Vows: I Give to You a Love
I give to you a love as warm as the sun’s rays at first light on a Summer’s morn;
Yet cooling as the waters of a spring as they flow over your body in a shaded glen.
I give to you a love as strong as the rock that supports the cliffs where eagles fly;
Yet gentle as a dove as she caresses her young in a nest softened with her down.
I give to you a love as passionate as the bee as he fights his way through the petals of a rose;
Yet accepting as a butterfly as she follows the breeze on a Spring day.
I give to you a love full of growth as the daisies that cover the hillside meadows;
Yet stable as the the fertile ground we share our steps upon each day.
I give to you a love as dependable as the rise and falls of the tides;
Yet as refreshing as the spray when the ocean embraces the rocks on the shoreline.
I give to you myself, my heart, my body, my soul, my life;
Yet ask nothing of you in return, for you are my love.
